I am travling to London and want to know of the N7 7QP area is a safe area to stay?
My corporate travel agent booked me into the Mount Mansion on Seven Sisters Road N7 7QP. Is this an ok area?- interesting, I go through that area regularly and never new this place existed well, it's not the most high cl area of London, but I guess it's OK. I'd say from a security point of view this is kind of middle, not the best or safest, but a long way from the worst. there's plenty of buses both along Seven Sisters Road and down Hornsey Road but it's a bit of a distance from a tube station, the nearest would be Finsbury Park but it's quite a long walk along a stretch of Seven Sisters Road that I would not rate at all as safe in the evening EDIT : here's a bus map of the area, your nearest bus stop would be H tfl. gov. uk / tfl / gettingaround / maps / buses / pdf / holloway - 2132. pdf
- You are re uringly close to a police station there, but quite a hike from any underground station. I'd be wary of being out and about too late at night and looking too obviously prosperous. It's an area in which I have always been wary and have tended to take buses rather than the underground. Maybe I am over cautious
- Actually you're only going to be about 5 to 10 minutes from Finsbury Park Station, it's in a straight line from where you're staying to the station. The area is also served by loads of buses going into Central London. It's well lit, it's very busy during the day but can be quiet later in the evening. The area is fairly okay, I have never had any problems wandering around at night but as long as you remain cautious, you should be fine. edit: it's not a hotel, it doesn't have hotel frontage, it's flats above an office - I'd take their contact number if I were you because it's easy to miss
- I'd get another corporate travel agent if I was you! Seven Sisters is not a great part of London, I doubt you will be that unsafe though, it is usually fairly busy on then main street
